We believe God sent Noah to us three months early because He knew He would be calling His angel home sooner than we could ever have imagined.

On November 30, 2018, Noah was diagnosed with what doctors initially believed to be a simple "daycare virus," from which he appeared to recover naturally. Ten days later, at just 20 months old, our sweet Noah was called home to God. Doctors would later diagnose his illness as myocarditis.

In the months and years following Noah’s passing, both he and God have made their presence known to us—and to many others—reminding us that they are watching over and protecting us every day. A single butterfly fluttering through a family gathering… a gentle breeze passing through his wind chimes when our hearts are heavy… that sudden, overwhelming urge to hug your child a little tighter—these are Noah’s ways of touching our hearts.

In his own beautiful way, Noah continues to bless our lives and inspire us to spread his love.

Noah Martin Carthen was born to Nicholas and Lindsay (Minnear) Carthen on April 10, 2017, at Kingwood Hospital. He arrived three months early, weighing just 2 lbs. 6 oz. Despite his size and fragile lungs, Noah made a miraculous recovery and was discharged home after spending two and a half months in the NICU, under the care of incredibly skilled and compassionate doctors and nurses. We are eternally grateful for these men and women.
Noah grew into a beautiful, strong, healthy, and funny little boy, hitting all his developmental milestones. As our first child, Noah taught us life’s most profound lessons—patience, forgiveness, inner strength, sacrifice, faith, and most of all, unconditional love.
